I’ve always known I wanted to do hair. I remember being in the third grade and my beautiful blonde teacher would sit us down on the carpet and read to us. I would stand behind her, she was sitting in her chair, and I would French braid her hair. I don’t know how I knew how to French braid, no one had taught me. I suppose it was just in my hands.
I love the artistry, being able to be creative and enhance peoples beauty. When I look at something or someone I can just see it- see what it takes to make the object look its best. Being able to share this gift with people is one of the biggest responsibilities of my life. I am forever grateful.

Hello, I am Rachel. I handle all the day to day operations for Mecca Beauty Salon. I’m an experienced general manager with a history of working on an executive level. I’m a strong operations professional with a Bachelors of Arts focused on Psychology from St. Mary’s University. I enjoy short walks at the beach and those tiny umbrellas they put in your drinks at the bar.

My Name is Rey, I am a former Military and current Studio Manager at Mecca Beauty. My duties range from chasing down late FedEx trucks to keeping the plants alive here at the studio. Customer Satisfaction is a passion, and seeing the changes and smiles on the faces of our clients make my day. I’m never not working, but between duties, I enjoy gaming and relaxing with my cat Sony.

I am a fun loving person who specializes in vivid colors but brunettes and blondes don’t scare me. I am a third generation hairstylist following after the footsteps of my mom. I trained at Paul Mitchell The School and have been doing hair since 2015. My favorite part about my job is making people love their hair. On my days off you can find me at concerts or Kpop night!

I’m Gene Herrera (known to some as Blonde or Blondie). I thrive in the artistry of all things hair. Over the years I have had the privilege to work with many talented artists who have inspired me along the way. I have 24 years of experience in the industry. I was born and raised here in San Antonio. I have a wonderful family and clientele who have always been my unwavering support. In my free time I like to go out, enjoy drinks, great food and spending time with my friends.

With 30 years of experience, I specialize in hair color, hair cuts and hair styles. I am a 2nd generation hair stylist, I enjoy the creative outlet this industry provides. It allows me to be myself and make people feel good. I love creating progressive, funky hair styles and also love working with wigs. Fun fact: I am an Ex-RollerGirl for the Alamo City RollerGirls (Dammit Janet Z-28).

I love the artistry of doing hair! Having a different canvas with each client can be challenging, exciting and very rewarding, especially when you see their smiling face when it’s all done. I am inspired by my clients’ wants and desires for their hair. I am Avaida trained with 10 years experience and I enjoy mastering new techniques. I am inspired by the talent that I am surrounded by everyday from my peers. My main goal is for every client to leave the salon feeling amazing and positive about themselves.

Hair Color- I have a passion for fun, vivid, colorful, rainbow hair, reds & gingers, blondes, but also love soft natural colors as well. I also do color corrections. I love the industry because I love learning new things, staying on top of trends and healthy hair. This industry never gets dull, you never stop learning, you are always growing. Not one hairstylist knows it all. Learning classes from world top educators and learning from my fellow peers and coworkers. I love the outdoors, hiking & nature. I also enjoy karaoke!
