About the Worship Pastor Position:

The Worship Pastor will oversee the shepherding and discipleship of musicians, technicians, and artists. He will oversee the comprehensive music/worship ministry. He will coordinate with the Senior Pastor to plan and administrate church-wide worship services and special events. He will serve in cooperation with the other ministers and ministries of the church for support and enhancement.

Qualifications:

  • The Worship Pastor should be a faithful student of God’s Word demonstrating their commitment in spiritual conversations and applications with staff members and those within the church.
  • He should demonstrate a calling to ministry endorsed through the local church by way of license and ordination.
  • He should possess the ability to cast vision for the worship ministry while aligning it with the vision of the church.
  • He should be proficient in reading and leading music, singing, leading worship, and possess the ability to play guitar or piano.
  • He should have the ability to multi-task with regards to seasonal events and ministry needs of the church.
  • He will have a proven track record of leadership, organizational development, and effective communication.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral leadership (encourage, pray for, etc.) to musicians, singers, and other volunteers in the worship ministry but also the congregation occasionally.
  • Recruit, train, organize, and oversee volunteers for the band, praise team, and media teams.
  • Plan and lead weekly God-honoring worship services while using online resources like Planning Center Online.
  • Provide resources necessary for musicians, singers, and media teams to prepare like Loop Community Prime, WorshipOnline, or another multitrack platform.
  • Maintain the annual Worship Ministry and Media Ministry budgets.
  • Collaborate and create impactful visual content for the church and its ministries (branding, social media, sermon series, events, website, etc.) but not required.
  • Oversee and continually update content publishing on social media and other areas (print, digital LED sign, etc.).
  • Oversee the technology and media teams and help prepare them for services (understanding of church sound, live streaming, lighting, problem solving).
  • Create order of service in Pro Presenter 7 with backgrounds, lyrics, sermons, transitions, announcements, etc. and train others to help do the same.
  • Plan and oversee musical and media aspects of special events (Christmas, Easter, Sings [Worship Nights], funerals, etc.).
  • Assess and maintain instruments and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
  • Regularly meet with members of the worship and media ministries for discipleship/fellowship.
  • Attend biweekly staff meetings to help with the execution of strategy and communication with the staff.
  • Participate in the general pastoral care of the congregation as called upon by the Senior Pastor or Executive Pastor, giving added attention to those connected to the worship ministry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Executive Pastor.

  6. Fully aligned with and supportive of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  7. Provides a demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and personal development.

Education and Experience:

  • Education is valued and encouraged. Ideally, the candidate should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of worship ministry, with a Master’s Degree preferred, however, we recognize the anointing of God is not limited to education and other candidates may be considered.
  • 3-5 years experience in leading worship ministry, bands, small choirs, and ensembles preferred.
