David YMCA Virtual Pick-A-Peak Challenge
Break out of your plateau and reach the summit with the Virtual Pick-A-Peak Challenge! We encourage all Paul & Carol David YMCA Members to #StayActive and #StayWithUs from April 15-May 15 and share what you are doing to #StayHealthy together with family and friends. You set your own goal! ALL ages can participate! Great for entire family! American College of Sports Medicine says 3X a week should be everyone’s healthy minimum.

How the Challenge Works:

1. Sign-up and select how many times a week you'll exercise. Ex. 4x a week = Mt. Fuji.

3X a week = Mt. Washington
Mt. Washington is the highest peak in Northeastern US at 6,288 feet. Notorious for its erratic weather, in 1934, a windspeed of 231 miles per hour was recorded at the summit. It is located in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

4X a week = Mt. Fuji
Mt. Fuji is the tallest mountain in Japan at just under 12,400 feet. It is one of the planet’s most recognizable mountains. An active volcano, it sits atop a junction of three tectonic plates and is the most visited site in all of Japan.

5X a week = Mauna Kea
Mauna Kea stands at 13,800 feet on the Big Island of Hawaii. Meaning “White Mountain,” this dormant volcano’s height is only calculated by what’s above water. If measured down to its base on the ocean floor, it’s actually 33,000 feet tall or- the tallest mountain on the planet!

6X a week = Mt. Denali
Formally known as Mt. McKinley, Mt. Denali, or “the High One,” stands at 20,310 feet. Often obscured by clouds since it creates its own weather systems, Denali is the third most prominent and most isolated peak in the world.

7X a week = Mt. Everest
Mt. Everest is a whopping 29,029 feet above sea level, the world’s tallest mountain. In the Tibetan language, it is referred to as the “Goddess Mother of the World.”  It represents the border between Nepal and Tibet and is arguably also the most deadly mountain in the world.

2. Work out at least 45 minutes a day – 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x or 7x a week.
    - A workout is: 45 -60 minutes of consistent cardiovascular activity each day

Examples:
