About ACO Certification


ACO Certification are Australia’s largest certification body for organic production with over 2,000 certified clients across Australia & internationally. ACO also provide Wine Sustainability certification for organic and conventional producers and have recently been awarded tenders to provide these services to the growers of several large wineries and regional wine associations. 

ACO has a specialised team of Certification Officers who assist through each step of the certification journey and are dedicated to understanding and effectively addressing our growers certification needs. To assist the Certification Team, ACO contract auditors to perform verification inspections of our certified growers. All our auditors are experienced and knowledgeable in the areas of viticulture, wine making and sustainability and ensure a professional audit experience.

Due to the increasing demand for sustainability certifications, ACO is seeking expressions of interest from individuals with a background in viticulture, wine making or sustainability who are interested in auditing.

About the role


The role of a contract Auditor for ACO is to conduct verification inspections on behalf of ACO and report the findings. As a contract Auditor you will be able to work independently and perform inspections across a variety of viticulture and winery operations. You will receive an attractive hourly remuneration rate and further allowances per audit. 

ACO are prepared to sponsor the formal training requirements (value in excess of $10,000) to support the right candidates become approved auditors.

About you


  • Post-secondary education in horticultural production systems/ sustainability or wine related disciplines
  • At least 2 years work experience in horticultural production systems and winery operations
  • Ability to travel intra-state &/or inter-state
  • A valid driving license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer literacy 

In addition to the pre-requisites, additional formal training is required prior to approving auditors. ACO will facilitate and fund the following training for eligible candidates:

  • Lead auditor training
  • Chemical handling certification
  • AWRI & Freshcare Training
  • Witness audits
